Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - San Diego, part of Select Medical, seeks a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate patient care on a 7 am–7 pm schedule, three days weekly, with every-other weekend. Offers sign-on bonus up to $3,000, comprehensive benefits, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities include bathing, rounds, patient transport, and maintaining equipment and room cleanliness, with strong emphasis on teamwork and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED or 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Experience as a nursing assistant or CNA certification or related field is expected.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing using basin-less products and assist with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Complete hourly rounds and respond to patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with movement when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment and keep rooms orderly.
• Monitor stock levels of supplies and assist as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
