Job summary

Essentia Health St. Marys Hospital – Detroit Lakes is seeking a patient care associate to provide direct care under RN supervision. This role involves assisting with hygiene, nutrition, comfort, vital signs, and safe patient transfers in a 0.6 FTE day shift position.

The role requires a nurse aide training program or current state registry, plus BLS certification within 3 months. Day rotation with every other weekend and holiday rotation is included; incentive of up to $1500 may apply.

Building Location:St Marys Hospital - Detroit LakesDepartment:3064130 FLOAT POOL - MED SURG - DL HOSPJob Description:Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
