Job summary
UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nursing staff by performing vital signs, hygiene assistance, and daily unit care. You will float between Orange and Irvine campuses as needed and help with equipment and clerical tasks to maintain a safe patient environment.
The role requires CNA or LVN credentials or active nursing program enrollment, plus BLS certification and strong English communication. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected.
Qualifications
- Understanding of basic medical terminology.
- Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Must be Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or enrolled in accredited nursing program with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
- Current BLS certification upon hire (by the American Heart Association).
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Take and record vital signs.
- Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
- Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
- Stock unit supplies.
- Operate hospital equipment as directed.
- Perform routine clerical tasks.
- Assist with other related duties as assigned.
