Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional nurses with vital signs, hygiene, elimination, and unit care. You will help stock supplies, operate hospital equipment, and perform routine clerical tasks in a busy clinical setting.

Candidates should understand basic medical terminology, be able to read, write and speak English well, and have or be pursuing CNA/LVN credentials; current BLS is required. Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Nursing Assistants hired prior to May 2010 who did not possess certification as a Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) are not required to obtain it at this time.
• Must be able to read, write and speak effectively in English.
• Must be Certified Nurses Assist., Licensed Vocational Nurse, or enrolled in accredited nursing prog. with completion of at least 1 clinical semester.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in a therapeutic way.
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Current BLS certification upon hire (must be issued by the AHA).
