Job summary

Cambridge Health Alliance's West 3 EH unit is hiring a Nursing Assistant for Night shift (11pm-7am). The 32-hour work week offers hands-on care on a 35-bed Med/Surg unit with a mixed medical and surgical patient population.

Under supervision of a professional nurse, you will provide basic nursing care, document patient data, and communicate with patients and team members. Applicants should have a High School Diploma and AHA BLS, plus nursing assistant experience or current nursing program

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; BLS credential required.
• Experience as a nursing assistant or enrollment in a nursing program with clinical rotation completed, or completion of an approved CNA program.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care to assigned patients under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately record patient care on the Patient Care Flow Sheet and communicate with patients, visitors and staff.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and ensure courteous communication with patients and team members.

The West 3 - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Department at Everett Hospital with Cambridge Health Alliance is a 35 bed unit for patients with general and complete medical and surgical needs, often serving those with serious health issues. The unit includes 5 private rooms, 2 respiratory isolation rooms and a hemodialysis tandem room with 2 bays. Skilled and compassionate nursing staff take care of approximately 25 patients each day including an expert Hospitalist Team.

The Nursing Assistant knows and understands the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of Nursing Service. Under the supervision of the professional nurse, the Nursing Assistant provides basic nursing care to assigned patients. Understands and demonstrates current OSHA standards. Records patient care accurately on the Patient Care Flow Sheet. Practices telephone courtesy and communicates appropriate information to patients, visitors, and personnel from other departments.

Qualifications/Experience:

• High School Diploma
• AHA BLS Healthcare Provider
• One year of previous experience as a nursing assistant OR Currently enrolled in a nursing program and have completed two cycles of clinical rotation OR Completion of an approved certified nursing assistant training program OR equivalent experience as determined by the CNO or designee
