Job summary

The Veterans Health Administration, Boston VA Healthcare System, Brockton campus, seeks a Nursing Assistant (42B) to join the Long Term Cognitive Impairment Unit in Nursing Service. This full-time evening shift includes rotating weekends and holidays, with a 40-hour work week.

The NA provides basic patient care under RN supervision, assists with ADLs, records vital signs, and helps ensure a safe, therapeutic environment for Veterans.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience.
• One year of education above high school with courses related to the NA occupation.
• Completion of an intensive occupation-related training course for Nursing Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under RN supervision and assist with activities of daily living.
• Take and record vital signs and monitor patient status.
• Assist with hoyer lift transfers and wheelchair use.
• Maintain safe, clean patient rooms and equipment; observe for changes in condition.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with the care team as needed.
