Job summary

Kindred Hospital Louisville, part of ScionHealth, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support licensed nurses in a 123-bed long-term acute care environment. This role focuses on assisting with daily living activities and providing compassionate patient care under supervision.

The position involves vital signs collection, basic treatments, room preparation, and coordination with the care team to ensure comfort and safety for patients during extended recovery periods.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Fluent English required; able to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to organize tasks and work under supervision.
• Demonstrates reliability and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assists professional nursing personnel in providing patient care in assigned area.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living and basic personal care.
• Takes vital signs and records measurements accurately; documents promptly.
• Prepares patient rooms and equipment for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Assists with patient belongings and personal property handling.
• Answers call lights and paging systems; responds promptly to needs.
• Under RN direction, performs routine treatments as assigned.
• Assists in applying restraints under RN supervision and ensures patient safety.
• Supports RN/LVN/LPN with more complex procedures as needed.
• Serves and removes patient meal trays; assists with feeding when required.
• Transports patients between departments and supports post-mortem care as needed.
