Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, Alabama, is seeking a Nursing Assistant II for 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) with every third weekend. The role supports nursing staff by assisting with basic patient care and daily activities in a 595-bed acute-care facility with extensive services and certifications.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; one year CNA experience may substitute for listed trainings.
• Completion of one of the trainings: CNA/PCA program, Alabama CNA certification, or Alabama LPN; nursing school graduate; medical corpsman/EMT/paramedic; or foreign licensure/certification.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• One year of experience in a relevant healthcare setting; not required for nursing school grads or listed trainings.

Responsabilités

• Assist patient with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination, and nutritional needs.
• Provide routine treatments and maintain a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
• Maintain safety and security of patients, families, self, and team members.
• Ensure patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Follow standard precautions and always wash hands between patients.
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Take and record temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rates, intake and output as directed.
• Obtain data and document pertinent patient information according to Orlando Health policies.
• Recognize and communicate safety concerns to the RN or other healthcare team members.
• Participate in handoff report and hourly rounding of patients.
• Provide exceptional service and care to patients, families, customers and team members.
• Demonstrate competency in unit-specific tasks and skills.
• Maintain a clean, neat, safe, and organized nursing unit.
• Answer calls and messages, transport items, equipment, blood products, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemo).
• Maintain regular attendance according to policies; comply with all Orlando Health policies.

Alabama CNA certification
