Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health in Homewood, Alabama seeks a Nursing Assistant I to support patient care on nights. The schedule is 3x12s, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, with every 3rd weekend. The role emphasizes preparing patients for discharge through collaboration with the RN, LPN, and therapy teams to support recovery and return home.

The Nursing Assistant I will provide compassionate care, monitor patient status, and help maintain a safe, clean unit while following hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must obtain BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within 30 days of hire.
• Experience: None

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with hygiene, mobility, hydration, elimination and nutritional needs.
• Provides routine treatments and maintains a safe, clean, neat, and organized patient environment.
• Maintains safety and security of patients, families, self, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Assures patient privacy, rights, and confidentiality.
• Follows standard precautions, always washes hands between patients.
