Job summary

Wayne UNC Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant I to perform basic nursing skills, personal care, and other tasks under supervision. The role supports RNs/LPNs and requires maintaining patient safety and comfort in a busy unit.

The position is onsite with a 36-hour work week and night shift. Completion of Level I Nurse Aide training and NC licensure readiness are essential, with preferred healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of state approved Level I Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year in a health care setting preferred.
• Current NC Driver’s License: No.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care including vital signs and personal care as delegated by RN/LPN.
• Measures vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure.
• Assists with bathing, mouth care, skin care, grooming, and dressing/undressing.
• Assists with feeding and nutritional needs; supports meal times.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely according to standards.
• Promotes effective communication among patients, teammates, physicians and visitors.
