Job summary

Royal is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to lead, supervise, and evaluate nursing care in a skilled nursing facility. The role focuses on coordinating clinical and financial outcomes, guiding staff, and ensuring high-quality resident care.

Requirements include an active nursing license, a 2–4 year leadership background in long-term care, and strong knowledge of regulations. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with a focus on geriatric care and patient-family communication.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• 2–4 years of nurse leadership in a long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations.
• Experience with geriatric psychiatric population.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, supervises and evaluates nursing care.
• Provides professional guidance and supervision to non-professional staff.
• Ensures patient care assignments match staff competencies and needs.
• Schedules and assigns nursing staff; follows up on results.
• Establishes a positive work environment by supporting patients and families.
• Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.
• Ensures reporting to the Director of Nursing is complete and prompt.
• Communicates significant changes in residents' conditions to physician and family.
