Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Nursing Assistant at the Saint Cloud VA Medical Center in Saint Cloud, MN.

The NA provides basic physical and emotional care under supervision, delivering daily living assistance and contributing to the resident care plan. Responsibilities include direct patient care, mobility assistance, nutrition support, and vital sign monitoring, with emphasis on safety and infection control.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of general experience
• English Language Proficiency
• Ability to communicate with patients/residents and families
• Experience or education meeting basic NA requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care to residents—bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral care
• Assist residents with mobility—transfers, turning, positioning, and ambulation
• Support residents with nutrition—serving meals, assisting with feeding, monitoring intake
• Measure and record vitals: temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, oxygen
• Observe and report changes to licensed staff in a timely manner
• Maintain infection control and use PPE; ensure a safe environment
• Document care and observations in charts; participate in care planning
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning as needed
• Work schedule includes full-time and part-time; rotating shifts; weekends/holidays
