Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support patient care 36 hours a week, 7a–7p with every 3rd weekend and 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities include direct patient care, documentation, transport, and basic housekeeping to maintain a safe, compassionate environment.

The role offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus, shift differentials, tuition assistance, and academic sponsorship with Methodist College, plus free parking.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of first clinical rotation as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Successful completion of the 75-hour state approved Nurse Assistant course or 6 months Nurse Assistant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides appropriate care specific to the age of the customer/patient, to ensure understanding and comfort level of treatment.
• Exhibits excellent interpersonal relations with patients, co-workers, physicians, and guests to ensure effective communications.
• Completes clinical activities identified in the patient's plan of care to meet patients’ comfort/activity/sleep needs and other clinical needs.
• Documents all data collected, in Cerner and/or on worksheets, accurately and timely.
• Provides housekeeping activities to contribute to a safe, efficient, effective environment.
• Recognizes and utilizes measures to provide for safe, efficient patient care and work environment.
• Prepares exam rooms and equipment to facilitate treatment and examination.
• Maintains work areas to ensure healthy environment conditions.
• Covers the front reception area as directed.
