Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and support to the care team in a clinical setting. Eligible candidates may receive a $1,500 sign-on bonus and up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

The position also offers up to $40,000 in financial support to pursue nursing education. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, documenting patient information, and coordinating various care activities under licensed

Qualifications

• Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range in their assigned clinical area.
• Provides patient care as directed by the licensed nurse, within the nursing assistant scope of practice, in meeting the multidisciplinary care plan established for each patient.
• Identifies, observes and documents the physical needs of the patient according to established standards.
• Reports changes in patient condition to licensed personnel in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of clerical duties and direct patient care activities as needed to support the unit.
• Transcribe and process orders according to unit standards.
• Coordinate transportation of patients to tests and facilities as required.
• Assist with activities of daily living and safety watches for patients as assigned.
• Maintain patient safety and participate in continuous improvement for care and equipment.
