Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support professional staff in patient care across Orange and Irvine campuses. Primary duties include taking vital signs, assisting with hygiene and elimination, and maintaining a clean, safe unit environment.

The role requires English fluency, completion of an approved nursing assistant program or current CNA/LVN certification, and BLS. Responsibilities extend to stocking supplies, basic clerical tasks, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic medical terminology.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• Must be certified as CNA/LVN or enrolled in accredited nursing program with at least 1 clinical semester.
• Current BLS certification.
• Ability to float between Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Background checks and Live Scan may be required.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs.
• Assist patients with hygiene and elimination.
• Maintain a clean and safe unit environment.
• Stock unit supplies and assist with clerical tasks.
• Operate hospital equipment as directed.
• Assist with other related duties as assigned.
