Job summary

Baptist Health is looking for a Nursing Assistant to join our team in Kentucky. This full-time role involves day and night shifts, providing essential direct patient care and support under the supervision of RNs and licensed staff.

You will assist with hygiene, mobility, transfers, and routine procedures such as glucose monitoring and EKGs. A CNA in Kentucky or completion of nursing coursework with clinical rotation is required, along with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (SRNA/CNA) required or completion of first year of a nursing program with clinical rotation validation.
• Basic Life Support certification to be completed within 30 days of hire if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including hygiene, toileting, feeding, positioning, and mobility assistance.
• Assist with patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and ambulation.
• Perform delegated clinical procedures, including blood glucose monitoring, EKGs, and venipuncture.
• Assist nurses and physicians with patient care and procedures.
• Document patient care and report changes or concerns to nursing staff.
• Provide compassionate, respectful, and responsive patient care.

The Staffing Office plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal allocation of nursing and support staff across all departments.

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures and routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification (SRNA, CNA) required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.
• Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don't have it already.
