Baptist Health System KY & i is seeking a Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) for a part-time third shift in Lexington, KY. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, under the supervision of an ED RN, to support patient care and department flow.

The role emphasizes strong communication, specimen handling, and adherence to hospital policies. BLS is required and Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification is needed, with potential training windows for certification or clinical

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification or nursing school clinical with validation.
• BLS certification; obtain within 30 days of hire if not already held.
• Laboratory or customer service experience preferred.
• Data entry and computer experience; phlebotomy/POCT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions within the multidisciplinary team under the direction of the ED Registered Nurse.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care and department flow.
• Collects, processes, transports and analyzes specimens per lab policies.
• Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.

Description:The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse.Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow.Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties.Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow.Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures.Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalentCurrent Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
