Baptist Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the 4th Floor Telemetry, working full-time 7p-7a. The Nursing Assistant provides age-appropriate care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including vital signs, hygiene, mobility, and daily rounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS within 90 days of hire required.
• CNA certification preferred (not mandatory).
• Six months hospital or long-term care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document height and weight on admission.
• Turn and position patients every 2 hours.
• Assist with activity and ambulation.
• Assist with personal hygiene including bathing, showering, grooming.
• Take and record vital signs accurately.
• Perform hourly rounds for patient safety and satisfaction.

The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

• Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.
• Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
