Job summary

Baptist Health System in Elizabethtown, Kentucky is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the 4 North Tower Medical Surgical, Oncology and Palliative Care units. The role includes assisting with patient care under RN supervision, documenting vitals, turning patients every 2 hours, and promoting safety and comfort around the clock.

Full-Time night shift (7p–7a) offering benefits and opportunities for professional development; BLS is required within 90 days of hire and CNA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• CNA license preferred.
• Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs designated tasks in age-appropriate care under RN supervision.
• Obtains and documents height and weight on admission and documents.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene including showering, bathing, shaving, and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Conducts hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.

Nursing Assistant - 4 North Tower Medical Surgical, Oncology and Palliative Care

Full-Time 7p - 7a

• The Nursing Assistant performs designated tasks in the provision of age-appropriate care for patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Obtains and documents reported height and weighs patient on admission and documents.
• Turns and positions patients every 2 hours as indicated, using proper body mechanics.
• Assists and promotes activity, ambulation, up in chair and other activities as ordered.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene, including as showering, bathing, shaving, shampooing, perianal-care, catheter care and oral care.
• Takes and records vital signs accurately within established time frame.
• Consistently performs hourly rounds to ensure patient safety and promote customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Nursing License (CNA) preferred.
• Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.
