Job summary

Auburn Rehabilitation in New York seeks an experienced Nursing Administrator to lead clinical operations and ensure resident safety and quality of care. You will develop policies, mentor staff, and oversee infection control, QA activities, and regulatory readiness.

Qualified candidates hold an NYS RN license, have leadership experience in a skilled nursing setting, and possess strong communication and organizational skills to drive care excellence.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with NYS RN license and CPR.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience in a skilled nursing facility.
• Minimum 2 years in nursing administration or management roles.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; knowledge of policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements nursing policies and procedures in line with standards and regulations.
• Communicates policies to nursing staff and monitors adherence.
• Participates in admissions decisions and resident status reviews.
• Leads daily/weekly management meetings on resident care and census changes.
• Evaluates performance of nursing personnel in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
• Conducts rounds to ensure quality care, staff coverage, and cleanliness.
• Oversees CNA certification program and student oversight.
• Reviews 24-hour unit reports for timely issue resolution.
• Manages staffing schedules to meet resident needs and coordinates recruitment.
• Delivers in-service education to expand staff knowledge and skills.
• Promotes teamwork, positive employee relations, and safe work practices.
• Ensures infection control program and OSHA compliance is maintained.
• Participates in QA committee and regulatory inspections preparation.
• Prepares staff for surveys and implements corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinates care with residents, families, medical staff, and department heads.
