Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking an experienced nursing leader to supervise the nursing staff, coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis, and serve as the on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.

The role requires strong knowledge of nursing practice, the ability to plan and implement surge capacity measures, and collaboration with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize patient flow while maintaining safe, high-quality care across the facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program is required.
• 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
• RN Georgia licensure required.
• BCLS required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care on assigned shift.
• Direct and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize patient flow.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Serve as the on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.
• Assess requests for administrator-on-call during the shift.
• Act in the absence of Administration and/or department directors.
• Coordinate disaster plan activation with the Administrator on-call.

Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
