Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking an experienced nursing leader to act as the on-site hospital administrator after hours. The role requires directing admissions coordination, staffing, and surge capacity measures to ensure safe, high-quality patient care across shifts.

Ideal candidates hold an RN license in Georgia with 3+ years of hospital nursing leadership experience. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required; Master’s degree preferred. ACLS/PALS/NRP are considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program.
• Licensed RN in Georgia.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care on assigned shift.
• Coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize patient flow.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift basis.
• Serve as on-site hospital administrator after hours.
• Assess administrator-on-call requests and activate disaster plans as needed.

Promoting and maintaining quality patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization on assigned shift. Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
