Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Inc. is seeking an experienced nurse administrator to lead nursing staff and ensure quality patient care on assigned shifts in our Columbus Midtown unit.

This role acts as the on-site administrator after hours, coordinating with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize bed flow and surge capacity. The position requires a nursing degree, Georgia RN licensure, and at least 3 years of hospital nursing experience with demonstrated clinical competency.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Georgia licensure and BCLS required.
• Graduate from a nursing program; bachelor’s or master’s preferred.
• 3 years of hospital nursing experience; demonstrated clinical competency.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care on assigned shift, coordinating with Admissions and Bed Control.
• Monitor bed availability and implement surge capacity measures as needed.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Serve as the on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.
• Assess administrator-on-call requests and manage activities in absence of Administration.
• Coordinate disaster plan activation with the Administrator on-call.

Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
