Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking an on-site Chief Nursing Administrator to promote high-quality patient care, lead nursing staff, and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize bed flow and surge response.

This role serves as the on-call administrator after hours, assessing requests and guiding all activities within the hospital in coordination with leadership. Strong nursing practice knowledge and exceptional leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program (Required).
• Georgia RN licensure and BCLS required.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP are preferred where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care and safety on assigned shift.
• Direct and coordinate staffing with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize flow.
• Oversee nursing staff on a shift-to-shift basis and monitor bed availability.
• Act as designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours.
• Assess administrator-on-call requests and coordinate disaster plan execution.

Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
