Job summary

Piedmont HealthCare is seeking a Nurse Administrator to oversee nursing operations on the 7:00pm–7:00am weekend shift. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality patient care, staff supervision, and operational flow across Admissions and Bed Control while serving as on-site administrator after hours.

The ideal candidate will have a nursing degree, Georgia RN licensure, and 3+ years of hospital experience, with BCLS required and ACLS/PALS preferred.

Qualifications

• 3 years of nursing experience in a hospital setting
• RN Georgia licensure and/or multistate licensure (NLC/eNCL)
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) required
• ACLS and PALS preferred

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain quality patient care on the assigned shift and ensure safety and wellbeing of patients.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate with Admissions and Bed Control to optimize flow and service.
• Supervise nursing staff and coordinate staffing on a shift-to-shift basis.
• Act as on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours and respond to administrator-on-call requests.
• Participate in disaster plan activation and related activities; communicate with staff and leadership.

Plans, directs, and coordinates with Admissions and Bed Control to facilitate flow, providing optimum service to all Piedmont customers. Monitoring bed availability and implementing surge capacity measures as needed. Supervision of the nursing staff and coordination of staffing on a shift-to-shift basis. Is the designated on-site hospital administrator after normal business hours. Responsible for the assessment of all requests for administrator-on-call contact during his/her shift. Responsible for all activities within the hospital in the absence of Administration and/or department directors. Works under the direction of the Administrator on-call to determine the activation of the disaster plan and coordinates related activities. Rounds and maintains open communication with all staff. This position requires a sound knowledge of nursing practice and exceptional leadership abilities.
