Job summary

Tutor Doctor El Paso is seeking an experienced Nursing Academic Tutor/Study Coach to provide intensive, one-on-one support to a nursing student in El Paso. You will help catch up on coursework, strengthen study habits, and prepare for exams, with structured sessions and dedicated space.

Ideal candidates have a nursing background and tutoring experience, with 25–35 hours per week available. This in-person role offers consistent schedules and meaningful one-on-one learning impact.

Qualifications

• Patient, organized, encouraging, and highly structured.
• Strong knowledge of nursing or health-science coursework.
• Nursing degree, nursing-school experience, or relevant healthcare/academic background.
• Strong understanding of how to study for rigorous nursing courses and exams.
• Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching college students.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in different ways.
• Strong study, test-taking, and executive-functioning strategies.
• Ability to maintain a structured and productive study environment.
• Dependability and availability for a high number of weekly hours.
• Approximately 25–35 hours per week with one student.
• Work with the same student on a consistent weekly schedule.
• Private office/study space provided for tutoring sessions.
• No Traveling Between Students: Work primarily with one student in one dedicated location.
• Meaningful One-on-One Work: Build a strong working relationship and see the student's progress firsthand.
• Longer Sessions: More time to teach concepts, review coursework, prepare for exams, and develop effective study habits.
• Academic Coaching Experience: Combine nursing knowledge with tutoring, mentoring, and executive-function coaching.
• Tutor Doctor Support: Administrative and ongoing support from our Tutor Doctor team.
• Established Student Match: Focus your time on helping the student rather than finding your own clients.
