Job summary

East Carolina University in North Carolina is seeking an Academic Advisor for the College of Nursing’s undergraduate accelerated 2nd degree and pre-licensure BSN students. You will guide students in decision-making, develop programs to support success, evaluate admissions, and participate in recruitment events.

The role requires collaboration with a team of student services staff and the teaching of COAD 1000, with a focus on retention and student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited institution and conferred by time of hire.
• Teaching, advising, and/or counseling experience in higher education.
• Ability to advise undergraduate nursing students and support enrollment and progression.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising and application assistance to undergraduate nursing students pursuing a degree in nursing. (70%)
• Participate in retention strategies to enhance student satisfaction, engagement and success. (15%)
• Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., committees, professional development, retention and graduation). (5%)
