Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University is seeking an Academic Adviser to support nursing students in the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing. This hybrid role combines on-site advising three days a week with flexible collaboration with faculty and staff to promote student success.

You will advise traditional BSN students and RN-to-BSN learners, assist with recruitment, retention, and degree progression, and help align academic policies with student needs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 6+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with advising or student success initiatives preferred.
• Familiarity with Starfish and LionPATH student information systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising for prelicensure and RN to BSN nursing students.
• Assist with course registration, progression, and transfer credit evaluations.
• Support recruitment, orientation, and outreach, and maintain records with confidentiality.
