Job summary

Penn State University’s Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing seeks an Academic Adviser to support traditional BSN students and RN-to-BSN online learners in the Student Success Center. The role blends on-site collaboration with flexible, hybrid scheduling in the Nursing Sciences Building.

You will guide students through degree requirements, registrations, and transfer credits, assist with onboarding and recruitment activities, maintain confidential records, and contribute to program

Qualifications

• Master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Strong advising and counseling skills.
• Familiarity with advising software and data systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising for prelicensure and RN-to-BSN students.
• Guide course registration and transfer credit evaluations.
• Address academic, personal, and transitional challenges by connecting them with resources.
• Support students' academic, career, and professional goals through individualized advising and coaching.
• Participate in recruitment, admissions, orientation, and outreach activities to attract and support prospective students.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure consistent application of academic policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate student records and advising documentation while ensuring confidentiality.
