Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM seeks a full-time patient care technician to perform phlebotomy, wound care and bedside testing under RN direction. You will monitor patients, record vital signs, assist with daily living activities and transport specimens in a busy clinical unit.

The role requires BLS at hire, minimum two years hospital or long-term care experience, and nursing student status with clinical skills lab preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS required at time of hire.
• Nursing student who has completed a basic clinical skills lab preferred.
• Must have at least 2 years hospital or long term care experience within related field.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, collects and records information in the patient record. Collects and records vital signs, weights, and other patient data.
• Transports patients and documents action in patient record.
• Assists with activities of daily living and patient hygiene, positioning and ambulation.
• Performs phlebotomy on certain units after specific training and wound care/dressing changes.
• Operates patient monitoring systems and performs bedside testing and specimen delivery.
