Job summary

UF Health in Florida is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to assist the Nurse Manager in directing daily operations of the ED. You will supervise clinical staff, participate in hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations, and help manage unit budgets while promoting patient-centered care.

This role requires an RN with an Associate degree at minimum, BSN preferred, Florida licensure, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications, plus 3–5 years of ED nurse experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required; must obtain BSN within three years of hire or transfer.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Florida (RN).
• BLS from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS from the American Heart Association.
• PALS from the American Heart Association.
• 3–5 years ED RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in assigned ED area and provide clinical guidance.
• Assist Nurse Manager with hiring/firing of nursing personnel and annual evaluations.
• Lead orientation for new staff and ongoing staff development.
• Support performance improvement activities and patient safety initiatives.
• Assist in budgeting and resource management for the department.
• Promote positive customer service and patient-centered care on the unit.
