Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to provide clinical leadership and manage a patient care unit during a designated shift. The role partners with the Nurse Manager to develop an environment of excellence in patient/family service, staff development, and evidence-based practice.

The ideal candidate holds a NYS Registered Nurse license, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, and at least two years of leadership or clinical experience; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current NYS RN license required.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
• Two years of clinical leadership or nursing experience.
• Clinical certification in the patient population served or nurse leader certification.
• Master's degree in nursing or health-related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fosters a culture aligned with NYULH's mission to serve, teach, and discover.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team to ensure quality, patient experience and efficiency.
• Manages staffing, onboarding, training, evaluation, and professional growth of unit staff.
• Ensures timely communication of patient safety, care quality and operational metrics to leadership.
• Supports accreditation, regulatory compliance, and policy implementation.
• Provides direct patient care when needed and supports other units as required.

Education

Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State

Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

Clinical certification in patient population served or nurse leader certification
