Qualifications

• Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in New York State.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
• 2 years experience required.
• Clinical certification in the patient population served or nurse leader certification.
• Ability to apply nursing process toward outcomes in patient/family satisfaction and quality indicators.
• Evidence of excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organization, critical thinking, problem solving, and leadership skills.
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
• Physical stamina and ability to handle reasonably heavy weight.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and management for a designated shift.
• Assist nurse manager to develop and sustain an environment of excellence in patient care.
• Collaborate with interprofessional team to ensure quality, patient experience, and efficiency.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, payroll and cross-unit services across the care continuum.
• Provide direct patient care as needed to support clinical operations.
• Support staff development, mentoring and performance evaluations.
