Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System is seeking a registered nurse to coordinate and deliver quality care to patients and families in alignment with the Population Specific Criteria and care protocols. The role supports a 36-hour work week on the day shift.

Responsibilities include managing patient flow, bed assignments, supervision of staff, and ensuring safety and quality standards with SBAR communications and collaborative care planning.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• RN license current; compact multistate license or temporary permit.
• ACLS certification required (within 6 months for certain units).
• NIH Stroke Scale training within 6 months of hire.
• Experience: 1–2 years on assigned unit; 3–5 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient admissions/discharges to manage bed availability.
• Assign beds within 20 minutes of request; escalate as needed.
• Lead unit plan during high demand and monitor bed capacity.
• Coach staff to uphold core values and safety standards.
• Maintain SBAR communications for continuity of care.
