Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital is seeking a Nurse Technician for the Med Surg Care Unit. The role supports RN-supervised patient care on a 36-hour weekly schedule with night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. in Zeeland, MI.

Responsibilities include vitals, basic patient care, wound care, catheterization, and maintaining a safe, confidential environment. Eligible for comprehensive benefits and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

The Med Surg Unit is a 29 bed unit with an attached 7 bed ICU. Adult patients have a variety of diagnosis. Most patients are medical cases. We also see surgical cases including bariatric, total joint, abdominal, podiatry, and more.

Scope of work

Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel. Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
