Job summary

Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the Surgery Department. The role involves assisting in intra-operative care, preparing and delivering supplies, and ensuring the smooth operation of the unit.

Responsibilities include organizing equipment, maintaining sterile supplies, and assisting with anesthesia-related procedures under supervision. A high school diploma is required, with preferred associate degree and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree in related field preferred.
• 2 years of relevant experience patient care preferred and 1 year of relevant experience in operating room preferred.
• AHA or ARC American Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days required.
• Anesthesia Technician Certification (Cer. A.T.) preferred.

• Cleans equipment, work areas, and reusable supplies and returns unneeded equipment to appropriate department.
• Follows up on equipment needing repairs.

About the unit

The Surgery Department has 3 operating rooms, 2 endo suites, c-section room and supports other services including manometry and bronchoscopy. It is the busiest regional site performing roughly 200 more procedures than other top performing regional sites monthly. We see a variety of cases including multi-specialty, ortho, general OB/GYN, urology, dentistry, Ear Nose and Throat, and bariatric.

Scope of work

• Assists in the preparation, delivery, and clean-up of patient care during the intra-operative phase.
• Contributes to the smooth operation of the unit.

• 2 years of relevant experience Patient Care Preferred and 1 year of relevant experience in Operating Room Preferred
