Corewell Health's Gerber Hospital Emergency Center is seeking a Nurse Technician to support patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include taking vitals, basic nursing tasks, and ensuring patient safety on the unit.

The role supports a 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. shift with 36 hours weekly in a full-time position, with comprehensive benefits and a focus on teamwork and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Cert required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Takes vitals, checks blood sugars, bed baths, ambulating, wound care, catheterization; acts as a safety attendant for patients.
• Maintains a clean environment and reports equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department or unit personnel.

The Gerber ED is a certified Primary Stroke Center and Level IV Trauma Center. There are over 20 care spaces to treat patients with minor to major medical and traumatic emergencies. Interdisciplinary team members collaborate closely to provide relationship-based care for our patients and their loved ones. Scope of work

Nurse Technicians act as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.

Cleans patient’s environment / work area / equipment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department / unit personnel.

Demonstrates a high standard of moral and ethical behavior. Advocates for privacy, confidentiality and security of patient, staff and organization data.
