Corewell Health's Gerber Hospital in Fremont is seeking a Float OB/Med Surg RN to join the Staffing Office Float Pool.
The unit supports OB and Med Surg patients, including postpartum and observation, with telemedicine services and on-site imaging. Night shift 7:00 pm–7:30 am, 36 hours weekly.
SITE - Gerber Hospital - 212 Sullivan - Fremont
Gerber Med Surg is 13 beds. 4 are observation and 9 are inpatient. The unit is currently undergoing a refresh, new paint, flooring, and artwork in the halls and patient rooms, in addition to a new nurses station, breakroom and staff bathroom. Gerber Med Surg is home to our largest patient population and is a cornerstone of the hospital. We offer telemedicine services in pulmonology, neurology, infectious disease, and wound. Coming soon to Gerber are telemedicine palliative care services. We have MRI services 6 days a week, CT, fluoroscopy, general and orthopedic surgery, care management, medical social workers all on site, a huge push for the Gerber team is to help keep quality care local.
Gerber OB has 7- Patient in room through Labor/Delivery, Recovery, and Post-Partum; 1 Short Term Observation Room; 3 Bed Triage for Prenatal testing/additional procedures; 1 Surgical Suite for C-Sections

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
