Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System seeks a Nurse Supervisor for Surgery Days to oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality patient care. You will collaborate with nursing leadership and physicians to implement standards and manage staffing, education, and performance evaluations.

Required ADN or BSN with several years of nursing and supervisory experience; licensure in KS/MO and certified competencies (BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS) as indicated.

Qualifications

• Current nursing license (RN) in KS or MO as applicable
• ADN accepted with BSN preferred at higher levels
• 3+ years of applicable nursing experience with supervisory experience
• Must maintain BLS, ACLS, TNCC, PALS as indicated by clinical area

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the unit to ensure efficient workflow
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff; participate in hiring, education and performance evaluations
• Collaborate with Nurse Manager and physician leadership to set patient care standards
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and unit-specific quality metrics
