Job summary

Birmingham Green in Manassas, VA seeks an RN Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing care, ensure quality resident services, and uphold department policies on a part-time, evening shift (3 pm–11:30 pm). The role requires strong leadership and in-depth knowledge of long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities include supervising nursing staff, ensuring care plans are followed, and acting as the person in charge when management is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered RN license required.
• CPR certification required.
• Five years of experience in a long-term care facility.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines for long-term care.
• Knowledge of nursing techniques and regulatory surveys.

We have an amazing opportunity for a Nursing Supervisor that is:

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Responsible for the direct supervision of nursing care
• Assures that residents receive the care that has been identified to meet their health care needs
• Ensures that policies and procedures of the nursing department are followed by nursing staff
• Person in charge of the entire facility in the absence of senior management staff

Experience/Skills/Education

Required

• Current unencumbered RN license
• CPR certification
• Five years of experience in a long-term care facility
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential
• Knowledge and experience related to the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the elderly
• Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
• Knowledge of current nursing techniques, federal and state nursing home regulations, and experience in regulatory surveys, resident assessments, and recertification
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and other computer skills

Preferred

• One year of supervisory experience preferred
