Job summary

Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford is seeking an Assistant Patient Care Manager to support clinical management and administrative coordination within a designated unit. This role blends patient care with unit leadership to ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will supervise staff, coordinate patient care on assigned shifts, and partner with the Patient Care Manager to implement policies, support continuous quality improvement, and mentor team members across the unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
• Registered Nurse by California Board of Registered Nursing

Responsibilities

• Assists in the performance of the operational aspects of a designated unit while providing mentoring and leadership support to the unit staff.
• Assists the Patient Care Manager in administrative/management functions and assumes duties as delegated or in absence.
• Coordinates and directs unit patient care operations for an assigned shift, acting on behalf of the Patient Care Manager.
• Facilitates orientation, training and ongoing staff development; coaches, develops and takes corrective action as appropriate.
• Interprets and communicates unit philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures; monitors staff performance.
