Job summary

Sterling Care Forest Hill seeks a compassionate nurse supervisor to provide quality care, supervise G.N.A.s, and collaborate with the Nurse Manager to meet staffing and care goals. You will conduct rounds, document care, and ensure safety and privacy for residents.

You will also assist with admissions and transfers, develop care plans, maintain confidential medical records, communicate with physicians and families, and participate in meetings while using company computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to residents in a rights-respecting environment.
• Provides supervision to G.N.A.s and subordinate staff, checking work completion.
• Contributes to performance evaluations of nursing personnel with Nurse Manager.
• Collaborates with Nurse Manager on staffing, hires, transfers, and dismissals.
• Reports problems to the Nurse Manager and helps implement corrective actions.
• Reports disciplinary issues and issues warnings as needed.
• Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on shift.
• Gives and receives shift reports.
• Rounds the unit to ensure safe, clean care delivery.
• Keeps physicians and families informed of resident condition changes.
• Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.
• Completes medical records with confidentiality and policy adherence.
• Maintains infection control and standard precautions when providing care.
• Reports hazardous conditions or equipment/supply issues promptly.
• Maintains resident privacy, dignity, and a caring environment.
• Responds promptly to call lights and attends to residents courteously.
• Assists with admissions, readmissions, and transfers within the facility.
• Communicates effectively with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
• Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
• Maintains professional communication with colleagues and staff.
• Work with computer systems designated by the company.
