Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in Illinois or Wisconsin.
• Must possess CPR certification or obtain it within two weeks of employment.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures.
• Shows interest or knowledge in care of the aged.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, family, visitors and staff.
• Leadership and supervisory ability; work harmoniously with others.
• Personable, enthusiastic and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and supervise day-to-day nursing activities.
• Develop and implement care plans for residents.
• Directly supervise and instruct nursing staff on various topics.
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines and dress code.
• Attend customer care plan conferences as directed.
• Chart notes and document care provided and patient responses.
• Place orders for medications and treatments as necessary.
• Manage admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Create a warm, caring department atmosphere and participate in continuing education.
• Coordinate with physicians, families and other staff to support residents’ needs.
