Job summary

Serenity for Life, LLC is seeking a full-time Nurse Supervisor to join our residential behavioral health team. This hands-on role provides direct nursing care, serves as the clinical nursing lead, oversees medication administration, client monitoring, and documentation for women with complex needs.

The ideal candidate holds a Colorado RN license, current BLS/CPR, and is able to work in a collaborative, trauma-informed setting. Background check and drug screen are required prior to employment.

Serenity for Life, LLC is a growing behavioral health organization dedicated to providing high-quality, trauma-informed care in a residential treatment setting. Our team is collaborative, compassionate, and committed to supporting women with complex clinical needs, including co-occurring disorders.

We are seeking a full-time Nurse Supervisor to join our team.

Position

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for providing direct nursing care and serving as the clinical nursing lead for Serenity for Life. This position provides hands‑on nursing services to clients receiving residential behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment and serves as a clinical resource to other nursing and direct‑care staff.

The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that nursing care, medication administration, client monitoring, documentation, and communication with healthcare providers are completed safely, accurately, and timely.

This is a hands‑on clinical position. The Nurse Supervisor is expected to spend the majority of time engaged in direct client care, assessment, medication management, and coordination of client needs rather than performing administrative management functions.

Essential Job Duties
  • Supervisory Duties
    • Coordinate nursing activities and prioritize client needs.
    • Provide clinical direction and support to other working nursing staff.
    • Oversee and assign nursing duties as appropriate based on client needs, acuity, and staffing.
    • Ensure that scheduled medications, assessments, treatments, and follow‑up care are completed.
    • Monitor the overall health and clinical status of clients.
    • Serve as the primary nursing resource for residential staff and other team members.
    • Assist other nurses with assessments, medication questions, difficult clinical situations, and urgent client needs.
    • Ensure important clinical information is communicated during the shift report.
    • Communicate outstanding tasks or follow‑up needs to the incoming nursing staff.
    • Escalate significant clinical, staffing, safety, or operational concerns to the Medical Director for clinical & CEO for all others.
    • Maintain a calm and professional presence during emergencies or challenging situations.
  • Oversee and participate in Client admissions.
  • Provide direct nursing care when nursing staff are unavailable.
  • Ensure medication storage, ordering, administration, reactions, and count discrepancies are managed quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure clear and direct communication with medical and therapist staff of clients needs and issues.
  • Monitor clients medication and withdrawal management.
  • Complete accurate, timely, and clinically appropriate nursing documentation
  • Ensure Client safety and emergency response.
  • Follow and assist with infection‑prevention and control policies and education of client and staff.
  • Support and direct nursing staff
  • Collorate with Client treatment team
  • Oversee and participate in discharge of Clients
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Working knowledge of Google Workspace, and EMRs.
  2. Strong clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
  3. Ability to work independently and make appropriate clinical decisions within the RN scope of practice.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, providers, coworkers, and outside healthcare professionals.
  5. Ability to work effectively in a residential behavioral health environment.
  6. Possess efficient organizational and time management skills
  7. Skilled at embracing cultural diversity and exhibiting cultural competence
  8. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements
Licensure/Certification/Other
  1. Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado
  2. Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to client contact.
