Job summary

Serenity for Life in Colorado operates a women’s residential program focused on safety, support, and recovery. The Behavioral Health Technician assists with intake, monitors clients, and works with a clinical team to ensure best practices in a structured living environment.

Responsibilities include rounds, observations, coordinating with medical and clinical staff, coordinating referrals, and ensuring a clean, safe facility. Background checks and screenings are required for employment.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Valid Colorado driver's license required.
  • BLS & CPR certification required.
  • QMAP certification or eligible.
  • ServSafe - Food Handler certification or plan to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Assist intake by inventorying belongings and collecting UA/breath samples.
  • May assist with vital signs when needed.
  • Perform hourly rounds and document client observations.
  • Respond to client needs and communicate with clinical team.
  • Escort clients to events, appointments, and travel as needed.
  • Maintain vehicle safety and report concerns to supervisor.
  • Assist with referral and discharge planning.
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
  • Ensure facility stays clean and safe at all times.
  • Provide service coordination and CAT/CAS education if needed.
  • Participate in laundry sign-up coordination weekly.
  • Conduct room checks for alcohol/drug items.

Job description

Serenity for Life is a women's residential program. We provide a safe, relaxing environment while offering residents the tools and support needed to manage their substance use and co-occurring disorders. The numerous outdoor adventures allow the residents to learn new activities, reduce stress, improve sleep, build self-confidence, and develop long-lasting friendships. We are looking for team members who have a passion for the behavioral health field, enjoy outdoor adventures, and value open communication, teamwork, innovation, and creativity.


Position Summary:

The Behavioral Health Technician is responsible for providing a safe, structured, closely supervised living environment. This position works in cooperation with the clinical team in ensuring best practices are in accordance with agency standards.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the intake process by inventorying client belongings and obtaining UA and breath samples

  • May assist with vital signs

  • Perform rounds at designated time schedules (approximately once per every hour worked) and documents observations of client behavior

  • Anticipate and respond to client needs

  • Share client observations, concerns, and/or needs with medical/clinical team

  • Escort clients to events outside of the agency such as outdoor adventures, appointments, and to/from the airport or another facility

  • Abide by "Vehicle Safety Emergency Policy and Procedures," including reporting any vehicle maintenance or concerns to direct supervisor

  • Assist with referral and discharge resourcing and planning

  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings

  • Ensure that the facility is always clean and neat

  • Provide service coordination and case management if CAT/CAS

  • Provide skill-based education if CAT/CAS

  • At the beginning of every week, provide a "Laundry Sign-Up" sheet for clients to add their information if they want to participate.

  • Perform common room checks for drug or alcohol related items during idle time (e.g. evenings after clients are asleep).

  • Other duties as assigned/required


Qualifications and Preferences:


  • One to two years of relevant experience is preferred


Licensure/Certification/Other:


  • Valid Colorado driver's License

  • Basic Life Support for healthcare providers (BLS & CPR)

  • QMAP certified


Certifications to be acquired within 30 to 60 days of employment


  • ServSafe - Food Handler certified - to be acquired within 60 days of hire


Schedule:

Nights only available
