Dignity Health's Mercy Hospital of Folsom is seeking a Medical Telemetry Nurse Shift Manager to lead and coordinate our nursing team, ensuring timely, compassionate, life-saving care for patients in critical situations. You will oversee patient flow, assign staff, and address clinical and operational challenges while promoting safety and teamwork.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in Nursing, active California RN license, BLS and ACLS, plus at least two years of critical care

• ACLS certification is required or must be obtained.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a related specialty.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Medical Telemetry Nurse Shift Manager, you will help lead and coordinate our exceptional nursing team so they can deliver timely, compassionate, and life-saving care to patients in critical situations. Every day you will oversee patient flow, allocate resources efficiently, manage staffing assignments, and address any immediate clinical or operational challenges that arise. You will be expected to foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, mentor and supervise nursing staff, ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards, and act as a crucial point of contact for interdepartmental communication. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical expertise in emergency nursing, demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills, exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to remain calm and decisive under pressure.

• Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift. Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.
• Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.
• Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.
• Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.

The Medical-Surgical Unit at Mercy Hospital of Folsom is a 21-bed unit caring for a diverse population of post-surgical Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients, with admissions primarily coming from PACU and the Emergency Department. Our team values collaboration, communication, and patient safety while continuously striving to improve care and outcomes. Required

Job Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of California
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• ACLS from the American Heart Association

$80.07 - $107.23 /hour
