Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nurse Scientist to advance nursing research and evidence-based practice across the system. The role will lead the Nursing Innovation Council and mentor nurses to ensure clinical practice aligns with the strongest available evidence.

You will design and lead nursing research studies, offer expert consultation, and support dissemination of findings through podiums and posters within Wellstar and external institutions.

Qualifications

• Doctorate Nursing required.
• RN licensure (single state) or RN-Compact required upon hire.
• BLS (any of the listed variants) required upon hire.
• PhD dissertation acceptable to meet nursing research experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates EBP, QI, & research projects within nursing practice.
• Leads Nursing Innovation Council activities and IRB submissions.
• Mentors nurses in design, conduct, and dissemination of research; promotes evidence-based practice.
• Provides updates to WHS leadership and escalates barriers to progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
