Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Nurse Scientist to advance nursing research and evidence-based practice across the system. The role leads scholarly projects, mentors nurses, and guides practice by the strongest evidence through the Nursing Innovation Council and related councils.

The Nurse Scientist will design and lead research studies, educate nurses on research design and EBP, and provide expert consultation on system- and hospital-level initiatives.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Nursing required.
• RN license (single state) or RN-COMPACT/ Multi-state compact.
• Minimum of two years nursing research experience; PhD dissertation acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates clinical inquiry to advance nursing practice through EBP, QI, and research.
• Provides consultation and guidance for implementation and analysis of EBP and QI projects and research.
• Recommends dissemination opportunities for EBP, QI and research projects at academic institutions and external venues.
• Facilitates nursing research in partnership with clinical nurses to generate new knowledge and disseminate results.
• Mentors nurses on professional responsibilities and accountability in research, EBP, and QI teams.
