Job summary

The Nurse Scientist at Wellstar Health System leads nursing research and evidence-based practice across the system, guiding scholarly projects and mentoring nurses to ensure practice is grounded in the strongest available evidence.

You will participate in Nursing Innovation Council activities, design and lead research studies, and provide expert consultation on system and hospital initiatives while promoting dissemination of findings.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Nursing as minimum education.
• RN licensing via state or compact; BLS certification required upon hire.
• Experience: at least 2 years in nursing research; PhD dissertation acceptable.
• 2 years clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Teaching experience in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates EBP, QI, and nursing research across Wellstar.
• Provides consultation for implementation and analysis of EBP and QI projects.
• Leads dissemination of EBP, QI, and research through podium and poster presentations.
• Mentors nurses in designing and conducting research and EBP projects.
• Collaborates with Nursing Innovation Council; guides IRB-related processes.
• Ensures nursing practice is guided by the strongest evidence and professional standards.
