Job summary

Journey is seeking a detail-oriented Nurse Scheduler to coordinate nursing schedules, ensure adequate staffing, and support daily operations at our Bainbridge facility. The ideal candidate will hold CNA certification, have at least 6 months of scheduling experience for CNAs, QMA, and/or nurses, and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Strong communication with care teams and time-off coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
• At least 6 months experience scheduling CNAs, QMA, and/or nurses.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and posts work schedules in a timely manner according to policy to ensure staffing needs are met.
• Builds relationships with care team members to fill open shifts and modify schedules as needed.
• Maintains current listing of care team member contact numbers for call-ins.
• Coordinates and obtains approval for time-off requests with the Director of Nursing.
• Notifies the Executive Director and Director of Nursing of potential short or critical staffing levels.
• Manages attendance records and reports information to HR/Payroll for accurate time records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops and posts work schedules in a timely manner or accordance with company policy to ensure appropriate staffing needs and requirements are met.
• Builds relationships and trust to be able to make necessary contacts with care team members for open shifts and modifies schedule when required.
• Maintains a current listing of care team member contact numbers for call-in
• Coordinates and obtains approval for any time off requests with the Director of Nursing
• Notifies the Executive Director and Director of Nursing of any potential short or critical staffing levels.
• Manages attendance records, perfect attendance or other attendance related special pay programs the company may provide; and reports any necessary information to HR/Payroll to ensure time records are accurately captured.

Qualifications

• Certified in the state as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Qualified Medication Assistant, required. If a care team member holds a Certified Nursing Assistant certification and/or Qualified Medication Assistant certification, the Nursing Scheduler may be required to function as one during critical staffing needs. They will be required to meet all the requirements and essential job functions as that outlined job description.
• At least 6 months experience scheduling Certified Nursing Assistants, Qualified Medication Assistants, and/or Nurses.
• A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalent diploma is preferred.
